'House Music has always had a strong foodhold on the west coast, with roots that run deep. But only in recent years has there been a strong emergence of a definite ‘West Coast Sound'. This is a sound that somehow defies description or categorization as the artists draw from a wide range of musical influences. From hip hop beats & tweaked out acid, to panoramic soundscapes and dubby basslines, this fusion of styles has resulted in yet another twist in the house music story. The increasing appearance of labels dedictated to this sound has given an outlet to an ever growing hotbed of talent rising from the west, ‘Liquid California' is a true cross section of what's happening out here right now, but be warned it's just the tip of the iceburg.'
