Soloprojekt: Frontmann Jónsi mit neuem Projekt

Neben der Arbeit als Frontmann von Sigur Rós und seinem Nebenprojekt mit Alex Somers, scheint Jón Þór Birgisson (aka Jónsi) auch noch eine Art Soloprojekt zu planen. Das behauptet zumindest Produzent Peter Katis (Interpol, the National), der das Album produzieren wird. Mit dabei soll auch Nico Muly sein, der auch schon mit Björk, Antony and the Johnsons und Grizzly Bear zusammenarbeitete.

Während das Nebenprojekt Riceboy Sleeps mit Alex Somers ein reine Ambiente-CD sein soll, erzählte Katis kürzlich dem Internetblog The Calcutta, was man vom Soloprojekt erwarten kann: "It's going to be a largely acoustic guitar record but also with a lot of 'out there' string arrangements - strings, woodwinds, brass, and double bass, actually."

Während das Riceboy Sleeps Album Ende Juli erscheint, wird das Soloprojekt wohl in den nächsten Wochen eingespielt.
