Bei der gestrigen Meldung über den kritischen Gesundheitszustand Michael Jacksons handelte es sich möglicherweise nur um ein Promo-Schachzug. Ian Halperin, der an einer unauthorisierten Biographie Jacksons arbeitet, hatte in einem Interview mit der Sun bekannt gegeben, Jackson läge quasi im Sterben.

Nun geistert ein Statement des angeblich offiziellen Sprechers Michael Jacksons, je nach Quelle Dr. Tohme Tohme, Dr. Thome Thome oder nur Dr. Tohme genannt, durch das Internet, in dem er Halperins Ausführungen als "total fabrication" abtut:

"Concerning this author's allegations, we would hope in the future that legitimate media will not continue to be exploited by such an obvious attempt to promote this unauthorized 'biography'", wird er zitiert.

"The writer's wild allegations concerning Mr. Jackson's health are a total fabrication. Mr. Jackson is in fine health and finalizing negotiations with a major entertainment company and television network for both a world tour and a series of specials and appearances."
