Eine zunächst mal ungewöhnliche anmutende Zusammenarbeit steht bald ins Haus, die Arctic Monkeys werden sich in einem Monat mit niemand geringerem als Queens Of The Stone Age-Kopf Josh Homme ins Studio begeben: "I think we're just going to start by doing a couple of tracks. No pressure. The goal is to make something that they dig so much that everyone else can too." Ob sich die entstehenden Songs letztendlich zu Album-Material mausern werden oder das Unterfangen ein Experiment bleibt, konnte selbst er nicht mit Bestimmtheit sagen. In jedem Fall gab er sich jedoch optimistisch: "I think it's going to work out great. They want to submerge themselves in a place that's the opposite of where they're from and what they're used to."
