Platten-Deal mit Sony BMG

Ein fetter Deal steht Oasis ins Haus: Zum ersten Mal seit zehn Jahren werden sich die Briten mit einer der großen Plattenfirmen zusammentun. Seit die Band sich in den späten Neunzigern vom Label Creation Records getrennt hatte, hatten sie alle Platten inklusive 'Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’, 'Heathen Chemistry’ und 'Don’t Believe The Truth’ unter ihrer eigenen Firma Big Brother Recordings veröffentlicht.

Nun haben sich Noel, Liam und Co. allerdings dazu entschlossen, ihr neues Album, so wie zwei weitere, in Kooperation mit Sony BMG auf den Markt zu bringen. Ihr eigenes Label wird aber weiterhin für Marketing und Vertrieb zuständig sein.

Alex McKinley aus dem Oasis-Managment erklärte dazu: 

"This is an imaginative and exciting arrangement which will allow Big Brother to team up with the crème of both the independent and major sectors worldwide to build on Oasis' already considerable international success. This allows the band to take advantage of all the opportunities presented by the new business models available today as well as remaining totally in control of their own destiny. We are really pleased that Sony BMG have demonstrated the foresight and courage to engage with the band in this way."
