Hat das schon jemand getestet???

Ich hab es installiert und mich registriert. Herunterladen kann ich aber bislang nüscht. Kann aber sein, dass es etwas dauert bis mein "account" freigeschaltet ist. Mit Songbird selbst habe ich noch nicht groß herumgespielt.

Hat denn jemand hier es evtl. geschafft einen Song von Qtrax herunterzuladen?

Imagine the surprise of the file-sharing community when 12 PM EST rolled around and Qtrax didn’t launch their new music downloading service. Such legal and industry authorized promises have been made before - remember MashBoxx? Despite a media frenzy preceding Qtrax’s launch, absolutely nothing has come to fruition. No downloading service, no MP3s, and apparently no deals with the entertainment industry.

The name “Qtrax” may conjure up some memories. Qtrax was once called “Qtrax Maxx” during a brief time after Napster. Like many P2P start-ups, the company closed in reaction to the entertainment industry’s tireless campaign against unauthorized digital distribution. Yet the name managed to surface once again in a massive media blitz.

The mainstream media managed to eat up Qtrax’s press releases hook, line and sinker. Headlines championed the first “legal” P2P service, and credited the company with achieving a groundbreaking accomplishment. No P2P entity has managed to score a distribution deal with all four major music labels, at least one that functioned within the context of a file-sharing network."

Ob das überhaupt was wird?

Es wird wohl noch eine Weile dauern. Die Sache entpuppte sich nämlich vorerst als glatte Luftnummer. Denn auch am vergangenen Dienstag noch war nur eine Testversion der Qtrax-Seite anwählbar. Und die Konzerne ließen verlauten, dass sie keineswegs Lizenzverträge mit Qtrax abgeschlossen hätten.

Auch Qtrax ruderte zurück. Unternehmenschef Allan Klepfisz bezeichnete die Unstimmigkeiten dennoch als "Sturm im Wasserglas". Es sei zwar richtig, dass Qtrax nicht alle Verträge unterschrieben zurückerhalten habe, "aber es stimmt auch, dass wir uns handelseinig waren". Ein merkwürdiger Eindruck bleibt trotzdem. Qtrax hat seit Jahren den Ruf, Ankündigungen nicht einzuhalten. Offenbar verließ sich das Unternehmen nun zudem auf alte Vereinbarungen. Tatsächlich gab es Deals mit Warner Music, EMI, Universal und Sony/BMG. Die bezogen sich dem Vernehmen nach jedoch auf andere Nutzungsbedingungen.
Eine Antwort der Musikindustrie auf die Entwicklung im Internet lässt also weiter auf sich warten.
