2008: Viele neue Songs, kein Album

Nick Hodgson, Drummer der Kaiser Chiefs, hat jetzt gegenüber dem NME geäußert, die Band habe einige neue Songs in der Hinterhand, plane aber kein Album: \"We mentioned mini-albums and double EPs, but we’ve got no fixed plans yet. We’ve got the songs though, which is good. We want to break the routine of having to make an album every two years. It’s totally boring. In the charts there are tons of indie bands playing chords and singing songs about the weekend. We’re going to be doing the opposite and being the best\", diktierte er dem englischen Reporter und fügte bezogen auf die beiden neuen Songs ‘You Want History’ und ‘Never Miss A Beat’, die die Band um Ricky Wilson bereits auf der letzten Tour getestet hat, hinzu: \"When we played them the crowd were excited. The reaction when we finished playing shocked us, because we’ve never had that with a new song before.\" Hodgsons Fazit: \"With the second album we tried to consolidate and be more song-based. This year we’re going to relax more and just enjoy doing music. We’ve got nothing to lose.\"
