Die Arctic Monkeys wollen schon sehr bald wieder ins Studio gehen, ein neues Album sei aber vorerst nicht geplant. Stattdessen überlege die Band, Singles unabhängig von einem Album zu veröffentlichen, wie Drummer Matt Helders erzählt: \"We've got things written, several new ideas and new songs that are ready to record. We will do recording early on. We might not necessarily record and then release an album. We might just do little bits at once or [release] singles. There's really nothing planned. It just depends how it goes, which is a nice change. We can go into the studio and not necessarily have to have something done by, like, the end of the month. It'll be like, 'Just see what happens'.\" Einer der Songs, die bald aufgenommen werden könnten, ist 'Sandtrap', den die Band bereits live gespielt hat.
