"Tonight: Franz Ferdinand": Album im Januar

Der Titel liest sich wie eine Konzertankündigung, dabei handelt es sich doch um das langerwartete dritte Album der Schotten. Im Januar ist es endlich soweit.

"Tonight: Franz Ferdinand", das kommende, ähm, Franz-Ferdinand-Album, erscheint am 23.01.2009. Erste Songtitel und Streams kursieren ja bereits seit längerem, jetzt lassen die Schotten endlich die Katze aus dem Sack. Produziert wurde "Tonight: Franz Ferdinand" von Dan Carey in der FF-Heimat Glasgow und Careys eigenem Studio im Süden Londons.

Alex Kapranos jedenfalls scheint mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden: "The last record was fast, furious, frantic, 150 beats per minute. It was like a teenager having sex. This one's a bit more assured and a bit friendlier for the dance floor. It's about 104/105bpm… It does sound different, and there are different instruments on the record, different tempos, a different attitude to making it… But it's always going to sound like a Franz Ferdinand record when it's the four of us making it. It's very much a dance record again this time." Interessant: Das schon vor einigen Monaten als Free Download angebotene "Lucid Dreams" ist entgegen anderslautender Meldungen und Meinungen nun doch auf dem Album vertreten.
