Stillstand is the new Fortschritt

Die Frage ist ja immer die gleiche, nur die Antwort variiert. Gibt es ein neues Radiohead-Album? Ja und die Band arbeitet daran bzw. ist schon fast fertig bzw. noch lange nicht. Immer mal wieder sickert etwas durch oder Yorke meldet sich in seinen ihm ureigenen Chiffren in seinem Blog zu Wort. 

Neulich war ja da wieder mal die Rede von Handfestem, nämlich den Titeln zweier fertiger Songs, 'Videotape' und 'Down Is The New Up', die Thom Yorke exklusiv in der Sendung 'From The Basement' vorgestellt habe. Hat er ja auch, nur dass es in seinem Kopf verschiedene Stufen von \\"fertig“ gibt. So langsam scheint es ihn zu nerven, dass jeder Schritt seiner Band in den Medien und Blogs zumindest der Indie-Welt totdiskutiert wird: Jede neue Wortkreation - ein Songtitel. Jede gesummte Melodie - ein Song:\\"'The session features solo performances of Videotape and  Down Is The New Up - two new tracks from the forthcoming Radiohead album, due to be released in 2007.' Oh really? Says who? They obviously know more than I do myself.”

Was ja auch nicht viel ist, aber wie ist denn nun der aktuelle Stand der Dinge in Puncto “Neues Radiohead-Album“? Herr Yorke: “We don't know what will make it to the record, neither do they, neither do you. It drives me nuts the way people take it upon themselves to fluff stuff up like this. I just played a couple of songs on piano that happened to be ones that the band were working on at the time. And that was quite a while ago now. Sheesh.”

Gottseidank steht Weihnachten vor der Tür, Zeit abzuschalten, weil niemand fragt, wie die Arbeit so voranschreitet. Deswegen Yorke: “We are taking a break now starting up again in jan. Have a good christmas everyone, if you celebrate it that is, love peace and hope for the future x Thom”. Amen.
