Große Namen an der Seite? Check. Wortreiche Unterstützung in Interviews anderer Künstler? Check. Aufregung in der Blogosphäre? Check. Neues Image? Check. Geleakte Songs? Tja, check.

Lupe Fiasco aus Chicago gilt in den USA momentan als next big thing myspace.com/lupefiasco: Er hat die Unterstützung von Jay-Z. DangerMouse, Pharrell und KanYe versorgen ihn mit Produktionen. Er hat eine Handvoll gutlaufender Mixtapes in den Straßen (\\\\\"Fahrenheit 1/15 Part(s) 1, 2, & 3\\\\\"), ein paar Zeilen durfte er schon auf \\\\\"Touch the sky\\\\\" von KanYe beisteuern. Er wird als der nerdy skater boy promotet. Und nach jahrelanger Warteschleife soll jetzt sein Album \\\\\"Food & Liquor\\\\\" erscheinen. Eigentlich. Denn offensichtlich sind einige Songs jetzt ins Internet gelangt. Wie also umgehen mit dieser Situation?

In einem Interview erklärt Lupe das Vorgehen seiner Plattenfirma: \\\\\"They brought in the RIAA, and a few other organizations to try and contain the leak, and shut down a lot of the links. They contacted a bunch of the hip-hop websites, forums, and file-sharing companies and got them to shut down the links, and make it almost internet-illegal I guess. So yeah, it's very good. The release date wasn't in jeopardy, but we're still recording for the album because we don't know if there's still going to be a heavy bootlegging problem.\\\\\"

Er sieht das Ganze also entspannt. \\\\\"Food & Liquor\\\\\" soll jetzt am 8. August erscheinen.
