endlich steht es unter strafe, ryan adams zu hören... ist aber auch eine furchtbare unart! mit james blunt kann man dann gleich weitermachen...

finde es ziemich erbärmlich von universal (lost highway?) auf diese weise vorzugehen. eine mahnung wäre vielleicht fairer gewesen (denn die zwei amerikaner haben ja kein geld dafür bekommen, dass sie die songs angeboten haben - sonst sähe die sache natürlich anders aus), aber ne große aktion wird ja von den medien eher wahrgenommen. wirkt sich bestimmt verkaufsfördernd aus.
schade eigentlich, dass ausgerechnet ryan adams´ schlechtestes album so viel publicity bekommt.

@hansmoleman das ist starker tobak, von jemandem der in seinem Profil einen Haufen Bands auflistet, die einen Affront gegen Geschmack und Würde darstellen, meinst du nicht? Aber in einer gerechten Welt würde das Hören von James Blunt durchaus unter strafe stehen.

We the undersigned, fans of Ryan Adams, are disappointed to learn of the indictment of Robert Thomas of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Jared Bowser of Jacksonville, Florida. This indictment was based on the ?leaking? of four tracks from the album ?Jacksonville City Nights? on their web site ?tobeyoung.org?. While we realize that their act may have been a potential violation of federal copyright law, we also believe that these men are truly the wrong target in the battle against on-line music piracy. While there are many outlets for rampant file sharing (limewire, gnutella, bittorrent, etc.), these men were, and are, not part of that community or culture. Rather, they are simply die hard fans of one artist who got (perhaps overly so) enthusiastic about a new release. As evidenced by the contents of their website and the singular nature of the ?leak?, they were motivated far more by excitement about the artist, than by any kind of fiscal piracy or theft. We, the undersigned, truly believe that their motives were pure, and that the ?leak? of these tracks served to increase excitement and anticipation of the release amongst the Ryan Adams fan community. To all recipients of this petition, we ask that you do whatever is in your power to assist in the leniency (or complete absence) of sentencing in this case.
