The Bravery suchen neue Vergleiche

\\"Angelina\\" und \\"Oh Glory\\" heißen die Vorboten für das neue The Bravery-Album. Das sind aber auch die einzigen Häppchen, die uns die New Yorker bisher hinschmeißen. Denn bis das Album spruchreif wird, muss noch viel Wasser den Hudson hinunterfließen. Die Band spielt die neuen Songs derzeit probeweise aber schon einmal live. \\"These aren't necessarily for the next album,\\" erläutert Gitarrist Michael Zakarin. \\"They're songs that are kind of finished and are quite different. There's more backing vocals in those two tracks and they definitely show another side of the band. I think it's showing where we could potentially go in any direction.

So for us, we'll have to wait and see where we choose to go but I think we're looking for new angles. Definitely going slightly different and obviously progressing is our main goal.\\" Offenbar wünscht man auf Seiten der Band, nicht weiter mit The Killers in einen Topf geschmissen zu werden.

Dann doch lieber mit Depeche Mode, für die The Bravery bereits in den USA einige Shows eröffnet haben und nun auch noch auf eine immerhin 11-wöchige Europareise gehen. \\"We've been touring with Depeche Mode in the States for the past few weeks and we really wanted to do the European tour with them,\\" spricht Zakarin. \\"For us, it's a great match. We still believe that they're incredibly relevant in what they're doing and they sound great. And we see kind of a mirror image in some way of ourselves. For us, it's all about kind of having timeless songs where it doesn't matter what the vibe of the music is or what the sound is. Their songs could be played on an acoustic guitar and still sound like great songs\\" Etwas vollmundig gesprochen.

Um die Zeit bis zum nächsten Album zu überbrücken, plant die Band eine - natürlich - DVD-Veröffentlichung. Auf der Disc sollen neben den üblichen Behind-The-Scenes-Standards auch die Videos zu sämtlichen Songs des Debütalbums vertreten sein. Man stehe im Moment in Kontakt zu verschiedenen Clip-Regisseuren, die das ambitionierte Unterfangen in die Tat umsetzen könnten. Hoffentlich klappt's, sonst wird das Material für die erste DVD möglicherweise etwas knapp ausfallen. Nach nur einem Album.
