Schon jetzt ist klar: Maximo Park gehört zu den ganz grossen Gewinnern des Jahres 2005. Seit die erste Verblüffung über das ungewohnte Gitarrensigning von Warp und ihr \\"A Certain Trigger\\" verflogen ist, liegt sich nicht nur ganz England in den Armen: was für ein grossartiges Debütalbum!

Der schmucke Sänger und Krawattenträger Paul Smith hat jetzt in einem englischen Radio-Interview über die nächsten Pläne gesprochen. \\"We'll be focussing on the second album after Christmas. We've written a few tracks and we now just need to get into a room get back to being a band that's creating music, ready to go out on tour and play for another year or so.\\" Tatsächlich kann man das neue Material auch schon auf ihrer Tour hören.

\\"We might play one of our new tracks in December which we'll be honing during the soundchecks in Europe and I'm just really excited about playing the new stuff. I just want to give more and more decent music to people.\\"

Und natürlich ist Smith mit dem Jahr 2005 zufrieden. \\"Things have been going really well for us,\\" erzählt Smith. \\"We've been on tour with the Kaiser Chiefs and the audiences have been really excited to be there. ] Ricky Wilson would say that the Kaisers are the best band on the tour, but of course he's wrong. He is a diluted man, you can tell that by his face.\\" Zustimmung allerorten. Freut sich die Band auf ein besinnliches Weihnachten im Kreise der Lieben mit Plätzchenbacken und Zimtsternen? \\"Our plans are to go straight out into Europe and to tour France, Germany and loads of little dates in places we've never been before. We've been to Europe a number of times and it'll be nice to go back and see how people are reacting to the album. Then we'll be back on home ground for a UK tour in December. I think the tour sold out in 24 hours. In fact, in the same week we got told about our Mercury nomination and that the tour had sold out - that was a really good time!\\" Und der Wahnsinn wird weitergehen.
