Bald im Ruhestand?

Der 49-jährige Morrissey denkt über sein Karriereende nach. Er hält es für unwahrscheinlich, nach seinem 55. Geburtstag noch als Sänger aktiv zu sein. Dem amerikanischen Musikmagazin Filter sagte er, seine Popkarriere gehe seinem Schlusspunkt entgegen: "I don’t want to go on much longer, really. I think that would suggest a lack of imagination. A certain lack of dignity also. There has to reach a point where you’ve said enough, I think." Vergangene Woche erschien sein neuntes Studioalbum, "Years Of Refusal".Laut Morrissey gibt es ohnehin wenige Musiker, die auch im hohen Alter noch bedeutsame Musik machen: "I assume most people lose it because they become satisfied and they achieve everything they ever set out to achieve, he said. More to the point, they become personally satisfied and that they are quite happy and it does not matter any more."
